HALIFAX, NS, January 9, 2014 - A tie and two one goal wins were played i the early evening of the second day of the East Coast Ice Jam Bantam Division as the North West Bulls and the Bedford Barons played to a 1-1 tie. The Truro Bearcats edged the Valley Wildcats 2-1 and the Nova X-Men got by the Dieppe Flyers 6-5. 

The Bearcats scored one in the first and one in the third while holding the Wildcats to a single in the third. There was no scoring in the middle frame. Matt Smith opened the game with a Bearcat goal in the first and Jonah Vidito finally tied things up in the third with a goal for the Wildcats. 

With just 29 seconds left in the game Carsin Lanceleve scored the winning goal assisted by Ben Higgins. Alex MacDonald backstopped Truro to the win while Oliver Troop took the loss for Valley.

Just over six minutes into the game Pierre Bourgoin scored for the Bulls on a power play and that goal held up until the middle of the third when Bradley Dawe shot the puck home to tie the game. Kyle Sexton and Alex Allain assisted on the Bedford goal. Pascal Valcourt drew the assist for the Bulls. 

Brendan Hirtle fronted the cage for the Barons while Mitchell Brown backstopped the Bulls. 

The X-Men scored four in the first and two in the third.. While the Flyers had to settle for one in the first and four in the third. There was no scoring in the second. 

Spencer Barron scored a pair, including the game winner, to lead the X-Men. Keenan Gillis, Cory MacLellan, Avery Warner and James Walker scored singles. 

Louis Joseph Vachon, Brett Mercier, Cole Waugh, Samuel LeBlanc and Yannick Jacob found the cage for the Flyers, Brett Mercier had three assists for Dieppe. 

Peter Kopf took the win making 29 saves. Evan Jones stopped 35 of 41 shots in the loss.
