ICE JAM FEATURED EXCITING GAMES FRIDAY
HAMMOND PLAINS, January 11, 2013 - A shutout, a tie, a one-goal game and two high scoring games finished off the third day of round robin play at the East Coast Ice Jam. The Halifax Titans shut out the Fredericton Canadiens 5-0 while Souith Shore Mustangs and the Miramichi Rivermen played to a three all tie. 

Pictou County Weeks edged the Saint John Vitos 3-2 while Rothesay-Netherwood dropped the Charlottetown Islanders 4-1 and St. John’s Privateers closed things out with a 5-3 win over the Cape Breton Tradesmen,

It took until the second period for the Titans to score their first but then they came across with five unanswered goals with Justin Doiron leading the way with a pair. Jordan Yochoff, Layton Parsons and Ethan Marsh got singles. Jacob Dempsey backstopped the Titans to the shutout. 

Alex MacNeil and John MacDonald picked up a pair of assists each. 

The South Shore Mustangs started strong with a goal in the first by Riley Donaldson. Samuel Castonguay tied things up with a goal in the second by the Rivermen. Both teams scored a pair in the third with the Mustangs striking first on a goal by Alexander Rawding. 

Miramichi bounced back with a pair, the first by Riley Scott and five minutes later one by Olivier Gendron, both on power plays. But before the clock ran out Alex Nauss tied the game on a power play. Cole Skinner tended nets for the Mustangs. Daniel Vautour for the Rivermen. Samuel Castonguay had a pair of assists for the Rivermen. 

The Saint John Vitos scored the first and last goals in their game but the Pictou Co. Weeks scored three in between to win the game 3-2. Lane Cormier scored all three Weeks goals. Mark Vokey assisted on two of them. 

Will Bower and Jean-Michel LeBlanc scored for the Vitos. Luke Melanson took the win in net. Jacob King the loss.

Rothesay Netherwood scored late in the first added a pair in the second and one more in the third to take their second win. Jordan Boyd, Devon Earle, Ross MacDougall and Brett Doiron scored for Rothesay. Zack MacEwen scored the lone Islander goal early in the third. Chase Bell had a pair of assists for Rothesay.

Adam Higdon took the win in net, Daryl MacCallum the loss.

The St. John’s Privateers scored four straight goals before the CB Tradesmen got on the board and they managed three before the Privateers added their fifth for the win. Dylan O’Leary, Brad Mitchelmore, Luke Tilley, Stephen LeDrew and Brett Vokey scored for St. John’s. O’Leary also picked up a pair of assists as did Zachary Tucker.

Bryceson Musgrave, Shaun Neville and Kelly Yates replied for the Tradesmen. Chris Smith took the win in net. Jordan Latour was tagged with the loss.
