TRICOM THUNDER ARE 2015 BANTAM ICEJAM CHAMPS - hockeyscene.com

HALIFAX, NS, January 11, 2015 - The Tricom Thunder out of the Avalon Pennisula of Newfound, are the Bantam East Coast Ice Jam champs having edged the Fredericton Canadiens 5-4 in the championship final Sunday afternoon. The Thunder won their semi final game 5-0 over the North West Bulls Saturday night.

The Canadiens took a 2-1 lead in the first but the Thunder roared back with threei in the second to take the lead 4-2 and although the Canadiens scored a pair in the third the Thunder scored one to take the win.

Chris Murphy scored just 27 seconds into the game to give TriCom a 1-0 lead but Joel Walker and Zachary Spencer gave the Canadiens the edge in the first with a goal each. .

The second was all TriCom as the Canadiens ran into a pair of double minors and the Thunder took advantage getting a pair of power play goals by Ethan Stuckless and Dominic Nugent. Drew Bennett added an even strength counter to make it up by a pair.

Just over two minutes into the third the Thunder went up by two on another power play goal by Jack Keough. The Canadiens did fight back with a goal by Nicholas Hodd, on the power play, and a second by Antonie Matte but it was one goal short of tieing the game.

Andrew Rose took the win in net and Zachary LeBlanc the loss.

Riley Burtt with a pair and Hodd, Tyler Hiscock, Ayden Fu=illmore and Matthew St. Onge single assists for the Canadiens. Drew Bennett had a pair and Stuckless, Chris Murphy, Ian MacIntosh, Nathan Dunne and Lucas Osmond with singles provided the Thunder assists.
