HALIFAX, NS, January 10, 2015 - The playoffs in the Bantam division of the East Coast Ice Jam started early Saturday morning and now there are four of eight teams moving on to the quarter finals this evening. Four have yet to be decided.

The Dieppe Flyers, North West Bulls Tricom Thunder and St. John's Ice Breakers will continue their try for the championship. The Flyers topped the Prince Co. Warriors 5-2; the Bulls edged the Western Kings 3-2 in overtime and there were a pair of shutouts. Tricom shutout the Norther Blackhawks 8-0 and the Ice Breakers skated to a 4-0 win over the Mid Isle Matrix.

The Warriors went out to a 2-0 lead in the first but the Flyers cut that lead to a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes. Then they scored three in the second and added a single in the third to take the win. Mackenzie Campbell, Dominic Hachey, Maxime Boudreau and Yanick Leblanc scored singles. Jeremie Jacob and Francis Robere each contributed a pair of assists.

Bennett MacArthur and Brad Morrissey bent the twine for the Warriors. Nicholas Savoie took the win in net while Caleb Coyle took the loss.

Matthew Goodwin scored an overtime goal to give the North West Bulls a victory over the Western Kings. The Kings scored a pair in the second while the Bulls scored singles in the first and third to send the game into an extra period. Joe Cote and Goodwin scored in regulation for the Bulls. Brady Marche and Liam Smith replied for the Kings. Dominik Bonenfant was the winning goalie while Aaron Mercer took the loss.

The Thunder scored once in the first, added four in the second and three in the third while Jordan Blackwood kicked out everything that came his way to keep the shut out. Ethan Stuckless and Drew Bennett each had a pair of goals to lead the Thunder. Nathan Dunn (PP), Aaron Greeham (PP),  Nick French and Chris Murphy each had singles. Samuel Gendron took the loss in net.

Kyle Brien-Auchinleck scored the first goal of the game for the Ice Breakers in the first. Alex Newhook scored in the second and Evan MacKenzie and Roland Power (u/a) scored in the third while Braden Kean kicked out every shot on net to make it a 4-0 shutout. Tim Noble and Campbell Clarke each had a pair of assists. Jean-Luc Duguay took the loss in net.
