One to Watch: Cole Rafuse – Valley Wildcats

2015-01-04

Cole Rafuse is a 15 year old forward currently playing for the Valley CIBC Wood Gundy Wildcats. The six-foot-two native of Kingston, NS is currently among the league leaders in rookie points. This fall Cole was names one of the twenty players who will comprise the 2015 Canada Games Men Hockey Team for Nova Scotia.

Cole has brought his skills to the major midget level after a season with the Don Mill’s Flyers of the GTHL last season. Coach T.J Smith has high hopes that Cole will catch the eye of scouts at the 2015 IceJam. "He is a big kid that can skate and make plays happen at top speeds. He can be a physical force at times and be a threat every shift to score." Smith also mentions that Rafuse isn't a one-dimensional player. "Cole’s play away from the puck has been improving since September. He is earning penalty-killing time now and is getting better in his own end and neutral zone."
